Chelsea was born and raised in a small town outside of Buffalo, New York. She graduated from Buffalo State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. After graduation, Chelsea worked as a Crime Victim Advocate and an Undercover Private Investigator. Chelsea’s work as an Undercover Private Investigator provided her with the opportunity to live in various places inside and outside of the United States.
In 2007, Chelsea vacationed in Arizona and quickly fell in love with the area. Shortly after her visit, she moved to the area and began working for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) where she performed on-the-spot behavioral analysis and threat assessments of large crowds. During her time at DHS, Chelsea received the City of Phoenix’s award for Excellence in Customer Service, and she was a medal winner in a job knowledge competition.
In 2013, Chelsea earned a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Phoenix College, an American Bar Association (ABA) approved program, with an overall GPA of 4.0. After graduation, she earned the distinction of Certified Paralegal (CP) from NALA, The Paralegal Association. Chelsea began working in the legal field shortly after graduation. In 2016, Chelsea earned the distinction of Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) from NALA.
In January 2022, Chelsea received her Legal Paraprofessional (LP) license in Family Law. She was one of the first ten people to receive an LP License in the United States. Later that month, she received her LP endorsement in Civil Law, making her the first LP to receive a Civil endorsement and the first LP to have a dual endorsement (in civil and family law) in the United States.
In 2022, Chelsea was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court to serve as one of the first two LPs board members on the Board of Nonlawyers Legal Service Providers. The Board is responsible for making decisions regarding code changes, certification, and disciplinary matters involving Arizona Legal Document Preparers (AZCLDP) and LPs.
Recently, Chelsea sat on the steering committee for the inaugural University of Arizona LP Summit, which was held in January of 2023. The Summit aimed to raise awareness about the LP profession among the legal community and the general public.
Chelsea is passionate about the animal rescue community. She is a fur mama to four (4) rescue dogs, all with special needs. Chelsea has spent significant time volunteering for animal rescue organizations helping animals find new homes. She has been deemed a “total foster failure” by her friends in the rescue community since she adopted two (2) of the numerous dogs that she fostered.
It is a dream come true for Chelsea to have the ability to practice family and civil law (limited jurisdiction) so that she can fulfill her passion for advocating for individuals who are dealing with difficult situations. Chelsea looks forward to helping you with your civil and family law needs.
